A video that uses the principles of 1920s Soviet montage and places them in a queer context.
"Ocean Faces" takes footage of nine separate transgender women and edits them together in three segments. The first segment is entitled Deposition. Most of the shots in this sequence are chosen as interiors, often including shields to the outside world. The second sequence, Emergence, primarily contains exterior images. The third segment, Activation, is comprised of performances and close-up shots.
The only requirements for the footage:
1. The footage must be unused.
2. A transgender woman must have taken the footage.
